Why bring your child?

  • Stronger and fitter

Pushing, turning and hitting builds upper-body strength, balance and stamina.

  • Confidence on and off court

Every new shot they learn builds belief they can take into school and everyday life.

  • A sport the whole family can play

Wheelchair tennis can be played with family and friends, including people who don't use a wheelchair.

  • A Paralympic sport

The same game played at Wimbledon and the Paralympics, and they can start right here in Wrexham.

Questions

Good to know

How much does it cost?

Nothing. All three taster sessions on Thursday 12 November are free.

Do I need my own sports wheelchair or racket?

No. Sports wheelchairs and rackets are provided at every session.

We've never played tennis before. Is that OK?

Yes. Beginners are very welcome, and our qualified coaches will help everyone get started.

How is wheelchair tennis different?

It's played on a normal court with the same rackets and balls. The one difference is that the ball can bounce twice.

What happens after the taster?

We're looking to set up regular junior wheelchair tennis sessions at Wrexham Tennis & Padel Centre. Everyone who comes to a taster, or taps "Keep me posted", will hear about them first.

What should we wear?

Comfortable sports clothes and trainers. Bring a drink, as it's an active session.
